  1. i dont really feel that learning effected my answers on the test but i think that motivation effected because some of those things motivate my decision by the way they look. emotion played a huge role in making my answers because what the picture made me feel was what i used to pick my answer.

  2. After doing the disgusting test I found that i am digusted pretty quickly. Anything that just look unnatural to me I will not touch or even stand next to because of I am just a germafobic. With that guy on the test I would stand next to him because he just looks like he has something in all three pictures. My motivation on choosing these answers would have to be how I was taught as a child to stay away from bacteria and anything that just looks disgusting. Also with that guy I would have to say that my motivation would have to be that I was always taught to stay away from strangers, especially if they look like him (a creeper).

  3. After taking the digust test I was completely grossed out. Learning motivation influenced my answers because certain things looked okay and some were pretty disgusting. My mother is a germ freak and she likes to keep everything tidy. I was not allowed to touch anything anyone when I was younger and even now. She also taught me to stay away from germs or things that look like they could be infectious. Green, yellow, and red things are usually colors that make people jump back and think twice before touching. I believe it is the element of surprise that gets you when looking at the images. I had a difference response for each picture. Some picture I did not really react to and some I made my stomach hurt, just nasty.

  4. I think that learning and motivaition played a big role in the choices I choose. I was taught that you should stay away from things germ-infested. Also growing up the germ stickers were green so as humans we were taught to stay away from germs that can cause us harm. I think that my emotions came into play because I began to grow disgust even with the guy who was sweaty and gross. I think that the way we learn and are taught influence how we react to different scenarios and weather or not we get disgusted.

  5. Learning and motivation don’t really have much of an effect on my answers. I mean the toothbrush picture everyone learns when they are young to not use anybody else’s personal items. You also learn to not touch slimy or dirty things that have any sign of germs on them. When you are young you are also taught that if there is yellow and green colors that they are disgusting colors and signs of infections. Any picture that had bugs just disgusted me because I hate them like I’m seriously frightened of them. If I answer total disgust to any other pictures it’s probably because I’m not use to seeing it or it is just really disgusting. In my opinion some of the things weren’t that disgusting like the cat. Not much emotion affected my answers but some did such as fright. That was just about the only emotion I found.

  6. Ewwwww! Some of these things were just out right nasty. Others weren’t so bad and are ok with touching. Most of these things I weren’t really disgusted at because of the person I am. This website was actually very interesting. It proves that most of us have germ phobia because of how we were raised. Most of us are raised up in the, if it doesn’t look good, than it’s not. We even get those green stickers that had the green face on it. The tooth picture was just nasty. Who would touch that? Our parents/Guardians taught us how to be clean and stay away from germs so it comes easy to us that we don’t touch what doesn’t look clean, but then again we sometimes touch dirty footballs and soccer balls. This test showed how we take in disgust. How much is too much? Everyone has a different disgust level.

  7. Depending on what you were taught people will have different reactions to many things. It was the element of surprised that caused people to react to things the way they do. My emotions and what I was taught caused me to have reactions that range from extreme to mildly. When I saw the gums affected with maggots, which caused me to flinch. That was truly disgusting.

  8. Mostly past experiences and things that I’ve seen that actually are disgusting has shaped how I picked my answers based on what I think is disgusting because my opinion has already been shaped on it and there is no changing it and what I think isn’t disgusting. The things that I were told were disgusting also played a part in it because it stuck in my mind that these things were disgusting, so I believed it unless I already had an opinion on it. There wasn’t very much emotion involved in my answers except when I seen the worm-like creatures because slimy things creep me out and make me feel weird regardless if they are around me or not.

  9. This blog was crazy. I did not like some of the pictures, especially after eating lunch. Some of the picture wasn’t bad at all I believe. What have gotten me the most during this little test is the skin infections and the teeth that they have shown? Then picture just made me want to throw up a lot. The pictures were just so disgusting. There were some pictures that just made me have to think about it before I chose a answer. Then there were the ones that I seen and I just knew what to answer. The skins and teeth were just horrible to see. I will never look at them nasty pictures again like them. Mainly after eating lunch.

  10. According to the website people are motivated to be disgusted by things that look like it could give them a disease. I agree with this theory since that’s what I was thinking about during the test. I always used previous experience to help me decide. If there was a picture of something that I know I have touched or been around it wouldn’t really bother me if it happened again.

  11. OMG that thing was very nasty I even felt like vomiting when I saw some of those pictures. For example the picture of some teeth and it looked very gruesome. The other one that show some flesh cut or something I was like oh my God I couldn’t stand it. Learning and motivation did not really affect how I chose those answers. The vision basically helped me to decide on what was disgusting and what was not. I am disgusted pretty quickly and I get goose bumps over me when I either see open flesh or a big infected object. About the guy he looked like a freaking creeper so I would definitely stay away from him. And the one with sharing tooth brush umm I think I’ll just rather not use the postman one because I don’t know what they put in their mouth. The train that was super crowded was very nasty because not only it will be hot, different perfume can make me sick pretty quickly.

  12. After taking the disgust test I found that I can usually see if something is disgusting pretty quick. After I look at it about once or twice I could tell if it was disgusting or not. As soon as I saw the picture of the rashes and stuff I was motivated to not look it anymore. I just felt like I was about to throw up. When I saw a picture of the empty train I was not disgusted because there wasn’t anything nasty about it, it was just empty. Sometimes you can just tell if something is nasty or not. I was always told to keep away from germy things. You don’t just see a rash like those on people and you most definitely come in contact with them. Sometimes you can just tell if something is nasty or not. Some pictures were just average or not disgusting at all but there were pictures that I felt were filthy. So, what you learned and what you are taught influences your decisions.

  13. My life sytle effect my answer becuase i just never touched stuff that looked nasty to me. the way that i picked my answers was just seeing it how it made my skin crawl and it just made my stomach hurt. i think the color of something effect my answer to for an example like the towel with the red and yellow stuff i was very disgusted but when it was blue it didnt freak me out. i really dont like slimy stuff i think it just is disgusting and it just freaks me out!!!!

  14. I do not think that learning was apart of my answers in the survey. My motivation was to not be disgusted by the things in the photos. I did not know what most of those things were, and was not sure if some of those things in the survey were diseased or not. I am a person who loves being clean and things that look and smell good. My motivations was driven by my parents who when i was younger, encouraged me to practice cleanliness and to have a great personal hygiene. Emotion did not really play a role in my decisions and am not sure why it would play a role.

  15. i think that learning plays a role in the choices that i made. when i was younger i learned what shouldnt be touched. i don't really think that motivation plays a real role in the choices that people make when it comes to touching or standing by something/someone. i also think that fear of catching something is the reason why people make the choices that they do.

  16. I think that this test motivated me to get through it faster than I would take a normal test. After looking at all the different pictures I kind of rushed through the rest of the test. I believe my emotions played a big part in how I answered the question. Some of the pictures make me feel more itchy than others.

  17. I was disgusted by a lot of the pictures that was on the website. I thought that a lot of the pictures were also very sort of clean looking, but I think what disgusted me the most was the guy with the bumps all over his face, or the burn mark I thnk on the person's arm. But my reaction on this website was okay I guess, but i definately am not comfortable touching a lot of things or stuff that don't look good to me or look sanitary to me.

  18. After taking this test I found out that it takes a lot to get me disgusted. As for what motivated me to react to those pictures the way I did, its that we learn over time what good and bad to us as we grow older. Like bugs, while little if you love collecting bugs and insect we learn a become immune to the sight of them, same way with people who are disgusted of bugs while a child they didn’t like to sight of them or had a horrific experience. We learn and are taught how to respond to certain problems.

  19. After taking the disgust test I wasn’t very disgusted, I don’t think I was disgusted at all. I think that we are often exposed to worse things, and I think that I’ve seen more horrid and disgusting things which really didn’t make me feel any type of way. I don’t think that my answers were defined through learning much less motivation. We see these [“disgusting”] things day in and day out and barely are affected by them, but when we see a “disgust test” we get grossed out before we even get to see the actual test. Instead of being grossed out we should worry about not catching or preventing those types of things rather than running away in terror. I think that emotion played no role what so ever in the selections that I made for the test. I was just very surprised at the end because I thought that some of those things were not such a big deal when it really happens to people all over the world. They don’t show any disgust because some of them have to live with it or really understand the situation, I think that the things that surround us and the environments that we are exposed to, define our perception of things ; but us, we just want to get that image off our heads without stopping to think that it could happen to us and if it does we won’t have the option of touching it or not, so I think we should stop being big babies and really only look for ways to improve certain conditions and prevent things from happening to us. :|

  20. I learned that many things disgust me. Learning and having knowledge about this does not affect my decision on whether or not things digust me. But my emotions play a huge role in making my answers because unconditionally, I feel disgusted and gross out. I couldn't stand looking at it because those pictures were very disturbing and made me feel very uncomfotable, which had also led me to feel disgusted. My motivation to continue to look at those pictures and decided whether or not it is disgusting is this assignment. After looking at the first few pictures, I would stop completing this survey because it seems too disgusted to continue to look at it. But I had to complete this assignment, I had no other choice but to continue to take the disgust survey.

  21. After I took the disgust test, i realized that i pretty much answered the questions fast depending how it looked. i could look at it and instantly i would think it looked disgusting. When i looked at the pictures of the rashes and towels I was motivated to not look it anymore because i know some of that could be contaigous. i serioulsy felt as if i was going to throw up, it was very disturbing to look at. When I saw a picture of the empty train I was ver relieved because there wasn’t anything nasty about in it or around it, it was very clean and empty. i was taught to stay away from thing that were germy or looked dirty or nasty. Some pictures were okay to look at, i had no reaction or emotion. Bu tother pictures were disturbing to look at and made me feel a bit sick.
