They were using experimental psychology in these cases. They would experiment the baby's ability to learn. I think the expeirment with the toy and blocks weere the most valid because thhey showed the most results and actually showed the learnning process of the children. It showed thhe truth behind thhe thinking process of the children and how they learn from it. In some ways thhey are, thhey do learn faster and can learn more. They are able to learn several things at thhe same time. And most of the things we do learn from are from chhildhood and what we learned then.
They are using experimental and behavioral psychology. They are observing the children and using this data to come to a conclusion. I think the experiment that was most valid was the toy that had two levers and they each caused something to pop up. It should that the kids who know what they toy did didn’t bother to play with it versus the ones who kept exploring. I don’t know if babies are smarter than adults but I think they have more of an open mind therefore they take in more than adults.
Behavorial and experimental psychology were being used. The experiment that I think was most valid was the toy with two levers. Each lever caused something to pop up. Once the kids knew how the toy worked and which lever would cause a toy to pop up, they had stopped playing with the toy. The kids who did not figure out how the toy worked kept playing with it until they knew how it worked. That exeriments shows how smart babies can be. I think that babies may not be smarter than adults but they may be smarter than what we think. Sometimes we may think that babies brains havent really been put to work or been used but many babies and young children are smart for their age.
Experimental psychology is being used in this article. The researchers are also being observant. I feel that the experiment when the preschoolers were given blocks to use probabilities working with the machine and trying to figure out what is new. It showed how they are a little more observant then most adults and they pick up things and information as they observe. So in retrospect, Babies are possible equal to us only because of the way they can pick up and understand things. Also by the way that they can understand whats going on, but not quite understand why or what is happening; like they know what just happened, but don’t quite comprehend why it’s happening or the reason for it. In my opinion, I think that adults are smarter than babies. Not just because of the age difference, but because adults know more than babies, even though babies maybe doing things without realizing what they’re doing. They haven’t learned much of any things therefore they aren’t really smarter than adults, but can just catch on to things more quickly.
well once again mine was shhort (thanks Luis) so on with my babbling.
I honestly do not thhink that babies are smarter pre say but I do believe that they are capable of learning at a faster rate and can process information at a fater rate as well. It is just like learning languages it is much easier the younger you are to learn them. In fact past a certain age it is said to be one of the hardest things to learn. That is one aspect that is not improved by age. So smarter is not really thhe word, more like capable of processing more.
The types of psychology that were being used were experimental as well as biological views. I think the second experiment worked better. I think this because it was able to show once a child/baby has been introduced to something one time they are interested but after the second they become less interested. Do I really think babies are smarter than adults? No, not at all I think that babies have more interest and are attracted to more colorful things, I think they are also way more active and learn maybe a little faster but I think adults thinking is way more advanced than a babies.
In this case I would have to say that this is an experimental case of psychology. They would experiment and examine how a baby’s mind is able to learn. I think that the most effective experiment that was used was the one with the toys and the blocks. They were able to show that the machine would mostly light up with the yellow blocks giving the children an idea that the yellow block had a higher probability of lighting up then the blue block. I still do not have an idea if a baby is smarter than adult because a baby’s mind is like a blank sheet of paper, you can put anything on it and teach them anything you want. But since the sheet is blank it is not yet smarter than an adult because it they are yet unable to learn the things adults are.
The types of psychology that were used were experimental and behavioral psychology. They used these two types because they studied the babies after giving them a toy to play with, which would be the experimental part. I think that all the experiments were valid, but the one that I feel is the most valid would be the block experiment because it showed how the babies interacted with what they were given and it proved one way of how babies are smarter than adults and also because it combined experimental and behavioral. Like they said in the article yes, babies are smarter than adults only in some ways though because they can learn about people and things around them faster than adults can.
I feel that experimental psychology was being used in this article. I say this because they were experimenting and collecting data to figure out if babies are actually smarter that adults. I feel that the block experiment worked the best or was most valid because with this experiment there was a lot of data to be collected which made it easier to determine the answers to the questions they may have had. I feel that that experiment was most valid because it was a hand on experiment and you can usually get better data from those types of experiments. To me babies are not smarter than adults because a baby just turns into an adult later in life. I just think that now a day’s babies are tapping into their inner intelligence much earlier than adults that are in older years now who didn’t tap into their inner intelligence as early.
The types of psychology that were being used in the experiments with the babies were experimental and behavioral psychology. In my opinion all the experiments were valid. My favorite was the one that involved the babies using their hands to figure out how the toys worked even though most of them already knew because they were observing and paying attention. It proved to be valid because it showed that they understood and used what they had just learned. I also liked the probability experiment. In my opinion babies are not smarter than adults. Research shows that babies’ intelligence is very different from that of adults and from the kind of intelligence we usually cultivate in school.
Do I think that a baby is smarter than an adult, or even me? No I do not, the reason that I think not is because they haven’t experienced anything. They haven’t gone anywhere; they can’t walk, talk or give their opinions on anything. Do I think it will be easier for them to learn rather than a grown adult, yes? Their brains are like sponges so they soak up everything they see and hear, so anything that they do or act out is what thy have learned from someone else. So in that sense yes they are smarter but no not as an infant they aren’t.
The types of psychology being used are, evolutionary psychology, experimental psychology, applied psychology. The best eperiment was, Last year, Fei Xu and Vashti Garcia at the University of British Columbia proved that babies could understand probabilities. Eight-month-old babies were shown a box full of mixed-up Ping-Pong balls: mostly white but with some red ones mixed in. The babies were more surprised, and looked longer and more intently at the experimenter when four red balls and one white ball were taken out of the box — a possible, yet improbable outcome — than when four white balls and a red one were produced. Babies are not smarter than aldults, but they take more time to observe and understand things.
The types of psychology that were being used in this article were behvioral, experimental, and developmental. Behavioral was being used because the psychologists were more focused on how the babies would react after the situation was presented to them. Experimental was being used because the psychologists were finding information based on experimenting with the babies. Finally, developmental was being used because the psychologists are studying how the babies change over time based on comparing them to how adults learn. The experiment I found to be most valid was when they presented the toy with two levers, a duck and a puppet that popped up. I feel as though this was most valid because it really showed how children experiment until they understand something. All in all, I don't think babies are necessarily smarter than adults, however they are able to use different strategies of learning more than adults.
• Experimental psychology is being used The experiment that I feel shows the most valid data is when the preschoolers were introduced to a toy that had two levers and a duck and a puppet that popped up. The outcome of this experiment was that once children figure something out it’s no longer interesting to explore, as for the children who didn’t figure out how to it right away they played or explore until they did find out how to work it. I don’t think babies are smarter than adults because babies explore as for adults exploit. Meaning what babies learn at a young age they don’t put to use but look for more things to explore. As for adults they take all that they have learned and use is it throughout there life. Such as problem solving, speaking and ect….
The three types of psychology being used on the children in the article were experimental, applied, and developmental psychology. I feel that the most valid experiment is Developmental Psychology, because it is the study of how people change as they get older and how they change by developing social skills, learning language, and assimilating the expectations of one’s culture. No, I don’t believe babies are smarter than adults because if that was the case then they would not need them. I do believe that babies are intelligent in their own way and that they soak in everything like a sponge. Babies are more observant and pick up information based on their surroundings. Babies might use a different strategy of figuring out things they don’t know, but that does not necessarily mean that they are smarter than adults.
The type of psychology used was experimental psychology to determine how the little Children are able to rationalize. They also used applied psychology to explain how the kids were able to determine the color of the higher probability and their ability to learn. The experiment I found was most valid was the one they did on probability with the block and the color. Like they said babies cannot focus on the one thing at a time. And their brains are not fully developed so they can’t think or focus on one subject on concept at once. They are also using behavioral psychology to determine the kids’ behavior or how they react to the object handed to them. I can definitely say that they are smarter for their age but cannot be smarter than adults because they are not wise enough because they have not lived long enough to be able to reflect on whatever situation they are being ask to do.
The types of psychology that were used in the experiment were experimental and applied. The reason why I think that those are the types of psychology used is because they conducted the experiment to find out something, they did the research to develop new things. I think that the most valid of the experiments was when they had the babies see what color of blocks made the machine work. I think that, that experiment was effective because it made the baby find out through trial and error. Once they realized how the machine worked they were no longer into it and they just left it there. I think that babies are about as smart as adults are but they need stimulation to put whatever they learn onto practice. Babies need to learn things and see for themselves how everything works otherwise it is useless to teach them things. I think that babies are smarter than adults but we do not see it because as it said in the article “Adults focus on objects that will be most useful to them” while babies focus on why things work a certain way and how they work. This is important because when we are around small children we treat them as if they were stupid even if we do not mean to but its only because we think that we are smarter than them, we do not really provide them with the help to understand things as they are instead we try to “protect them. '~'
The type of psychology being used in the article is experimental and applied. In the article they use a variety of test different test to try to determine kids learning ability. The experiment I believe was the best was the one with the toys. It really showed us how they thinking process of children work. I do not believe that babies are smarter than adults overall. There are so many things that babies are not capable of doing that adults can do simply. I must admit, babies have their advantages but they will never come close to the advantages of adults.
Experimental Psychology was used being used in this process. I think the experiment with the toy and the blocks turned out to be the most valid.
